About the Trip

Himachal Hidden Gems: Jibhi – Shangarh – Pundrik Lake

Jibhi – The Riverside Hideout of Tirthan Valley

Cradled deep inside the lush green folds of Himachal’s Tirthan Valley, Jibhi is a peaceful mountain escape known for its slow vibes, cedar forests, and wooden Himachali architecture. The gentle sound of the river flowing through the village creates a soothing backdrop, making it a favorite among backpackers, nature lovers, and couples.

Expect:

  • Cosy riverside cafés
  • Timber-framed homestays with picture-perfect balconies
  • Forest trails leading to hidden waterfalls
  • Campsites surrounded by pines and mist

Jibhi is the kind of place where you wake up to birdsong, sip chai by the river, and let the mountains slow your heartbeat.

Shangarh – Meadows Straight Out of a Fairy Tale

Often called the “Mini-Kashmir of Himachal,” Shangarh is one of the most untouched and breathtaking destinations in the Sainj Valley. Its vast green meadows, surrounded by towering deodars and snow-capped ridges, look like natural amphitheatres sculpted by the gods. The ancient Shangchul Mahadev Temple adds a touch of mythology and serenity to the open landscape.

Why travelers love Shangarh:

  • Wide open meadows perfect for picnics, photography & sunsets
  • Pristine village life with traditional wooden homes
  • Peaceful trails leading to secluded viewpoints
  • One of the most serene, uncrowded spots in Himachal

Shangarh isn’t just a destination, it's a feeling of standing still while the world rushes elsewhere.

Pundrik Lake – The Sacred Gem Hidden in the Forest

Tucked inside the dense forests of Sainj Valley, Pundrik Lake is a mystical, untouched natural treasure. Shielded by layers of pine and oak, the lake is considered sacred, and therefore swimming or touching the water is prohibited, a rule that has kept the lake pristine for centuries.

Its charm lies in its silence:

  • A mirror-like lake carpeted with floating vegetation
  • Ancient legends woven around Rishi Pundrik
  • A short, peaceful forest trek leading to the lake
  • Zero commercialization, pure wilderness

It’s a perfect spot for traveler's who seek calm, mysticism, and deep connection with nature.
