About the Trip

Bharmour & Kugti – The Sacred Heart of Chamba, Where Wilderness Meets Spirit

Tucked deep in the ancient valleys of Chamba, Bharmour and Kugti are where raw Himalayan wilderness blends seamlessly with centuries-old spirituality. Far from the mainstream routes, this region is a paradise for trekkers, seekers, and wanderers who crave untouched trails, divine energy, and rugged landscapes that still feel undiscovered.

🌿 Bharmour – Land of Gods & Warriors

Known as the ancient capital of Chamba, Bharmour is steeped in mythology and history. Home to the iconic 84 Temple Complex (Chaurasi Mandir), the town resonates with spiritual energy carried by the crisp mountain breeze. Surrounded by dense deodar forests, alpine meadows, and towering peaks, Bharmour feels like a gateway to another era, peaceful, pure, and blessed.

This is where every journey begins.
This is where the mountains whisper stories of old.

🏔️ Kugti – Into the Deep Wild

Beyond Bharmour lies Kugti, one of the most remote and enchanting villages in Himachal Pradesh. As you enter the Kugti Wildlife Sanctuary, the terrain shifts dramatically, narrow trails, roaring rivers, vast meadows, medicinal herbs, and snow-laden peaks create a landscape untouched by modern chaos.

Kugti is more than a village.
It’s an entire world hidden inside the Himalayas.

Walk through rustic wooden houses, breathe the scent of pine and juniper, cross old wooden bridges, and watch life unfold at a pace so organic it feels timeless.

🛕 Spiritual Pulse of the Himalayas

The trail takes you to the revered Kartik Swami Temple, perched high above the valley, where pilgrims trek to seek divine blessings. The atmosphere is powerful, prayer flags fluttering, wind echoing through ravines, and the sense that the mountains themselves are watching over you.

🥾 Gateway to the Legendary Kugti Pass

Kugti is also the base for the famous Kugti Pass Trek, one of the most dramatic and challenging crossing routes connecting Chamba to Lahaul. A trek of this region is raw, wild, and transformative towering glaciers, remote campsites, hanging valleys, and terrain that changes with every step.
